After 15 hours of flight time and 4 hours of driving in a van very full of 12 pieces of checked luggage, we have arrived in Eilat, Israel. My colleagues have photos of the van and the trip; I fell asleep for nearly all of it (both plane rides and the drive). I'm fully adjusted the time already, having woken up at 5 AM today to see the sunrise over Jordan across the Gulf of Aqaba. We will have our safety training at IUI this morning and begin getting settled for research.
First impressions: IUI has a beautiful campus (photos to come after our tour), and Israel is very, very hot.
